Cast Iron Butterfly Check Valve

As an automatic valve, the cast iron butterfly check valve produced by our Tanggu Shengshi Huagong plays a key role in various pipeline systems. It mainly relies on the flow of the medium itself to realize the automatic opening and closing of the valve disc, thereby effectively preventing the backflow of the medium and ensuring the stable and safe operation of the pipeline system.

The wafer-type connection of our cast iron butterfly check valve makes it easy to install. It can be tightly clamped between two flanges, saving a lot of installation space, and is very suitable for space-constrained pipeline layout scenarios.

Structure and working principle

(I) Structural design

The cast iron wafer check valve is mainly composed of core parts such as valve body, valve disc, valve stem, spring (equipped with some models). The valve body is cast in cast iron, providing solid support and stable structural foundation for the entire valve. The valve disc is a key component to achieve the check function. Its shape and structural design vary according to different working conditions. Common forms include single disc and double disc. The valve stem is used to connect the valve disc and guide its movement trajectory to ensure that the valve disc moves accurately and smoothly during opening and closing. Some check valves are equipped with springs. The function of the spring is to assist the valve disc to close, enhance the sealing when closing, and reduce the occurrence of water hammer to a certain extent.

(II) Working Mechanism

When the medium flows in the normal direction, the pressure generated by the medium will push the valve disc to overcome its own gravity and possible spring resistance, so that the valve disc rotates around the valve stem or pin shaft to open. At this time, the medium can pass through the valve smoothly, and the entire pipeline system is in a normal flow state. Once the medium has a tendency to flow back, the reverse pressure generated by the backflow of the medium and the gravity of the valve disc itself will cause the valve disc to rotate in the opposite direction quickly and fit tightly to the valve seat, thereby cutting off the reflux channel of the medium, preventing the backflow of the medium, and ensuring that the medium in the pipeline system always maintains a one-way flow.
