What kind of medium can a ball valve pass through?

Ball valves are suitable for a wide range of media, including general and harsh working conditions, as follows:

General working medium: Ball valves are suitable for common media such as water, solvents, acids, and natural gas. It has a compact structure, reliable sealing, and the sealing surface is often in a closed state with the spherical surface, which is not easily eroded by the medium and is easy to operate and maintain. For example, the valve body of stainless steel ball valves is made of stainless steel materials such as 304 and 316, and the sealing material can be selected from PTFE or metal hard seals, which can withstand various media such as acids, natural gas, and oil products.

Adverse working conditions medium: Ball valves are also suitable for working conditions with harsh media such as oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, methane, and ethylene. These media may have characteristics such as corrosiveness, flammability, explosiveness, or high temperature and pressure, and the special design and material selection of ball valves can meet these requirements. For example, carbon steel ball valves are suitable for media with a working temperature range of -100 ℃ to 600 ℃ and a pressure rating of 1.0-64MPa, and are widely used in chemical, petroleum, power and other fields.

Special media: For special media such as fibers and small solid particles, ball valves also have corresponding solutions. For example, there is a strong shear force between the V-shaped core of a hard sealed V-shaped ball valve and the metal valve seat welded with hard alloy, which is particularly suitable for this type of medium. Multi port ball valves can flexibly control the merging, splitting, and flow direction switching of media on pipelines, making them suitable for situations that require complex media control.

Corrosive media: For highly corrosive media such as sulfuric acid, seawater, etc., ball valves can improve their corrosion resistance by using materials such as stainless steel 316L, Hastelloy, or lining with PTFE, ceramic coatings, etc.
